May 19, 2008
Meeting called to
order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Phil Starr.

Members absent:
Keith Bowkamp, Ron Bell, Ralph Palmer.

REPORTS:
Correspondence
received: Discussed a received letter regarding planning and
enabling act.
Township Board
Representative: John Vander Meulen gave a summary of township
issues that were addressed at the May Township meeting
including:
County
Commissioner at the meeting said the County Budget looks good.
Paper was
submitted for a mileage request for 5.8 for the county and 1.0
for the township.
House Bill 4222
will create a duty on outside materials dumped at the Pierson
Township landfill.
Approved an 11 man
board to look at jail expansion.
A committee was
set up to look at ambulance funding.
Information and
Inquiry: Permits- 2 building permits, 1 electrical permit, 1 tax
foreclosure.
Township Cleanup
days- little turn out this year.
Park Ordinance-
last year we put together a park ordinance in case we need to
hire someone to police the parks. We are not going to hire a
park officer until we really need one.
Old Business:
Worked on Master Plan.

IV Buildings and Premises.

revised part III C.
