Ensley Township Planning Commission

September 28^th 2009 

Members Present: Matt Bonzo, Keith Bouwkamp, Robert Buckowing, Janet Dravk,
                                Ross Harwood, John Vander Meulen

Members Absent: Ralph Palmer

Meeting:

A.     Pledge of Allegiance:

Matt Bonzo called the September 28, 2009 meeting of the Ensley Township Planning Commission to order at 8:00 PM.  Pledge of Allegiance was cited.

B.     Roll Call:

Ralph Palmer Absent

C.     Approval of Agenda:

Bonzo presented the agenda for August 24, 2009 as written.  Motion made (Dravk) and supported (Buckowing) to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried.

D.    Approval of Minutes for August 24th, 2009:

Ralph Palmer absent.  Motion made (Bouwkamp) and supported (Vander Meulen) to approve the August minutes with corrections to the date and spelling of “Newcosta”.  Motion carried.

Reports:

A.     Correspondence Received:

a)      None 

B.     Township Board Representative (John Vander Meulen):

John Vander Meulen gave the Planning Commission an update on the township board.

C.     Information and Inquiry Including Public Comment:

a)      Comments made in response to Ryan Coffee - Wind Energy Presentation.

D.    Zoning Administrator (Bob Hall):

a)      Will be attending MTA classes

Old Business:

A.     Alternative Energy Zoning:

a)      Work on Wind Turbine ordinance – Discussions deferred until October meeting

B.     Master Plan:

a)      A final copy of the Master Plan was handed out to the Planning Commission members.

C.     Internship position:

a)      Matt gave a brief description to the Planning Commission of the job responsibilities of an intern. 

b)      It was agreed the intern position will report directly to the Planning Commission Chair person.

New Business:

A.     Ryan Coffee from the MSU extension gave a Wind Energy Presentation.  Afterwards Ryan answered Planning Commission and public comment and questions

Motion made by (Bouwkamp) and supported (Buckowing) to adjourn at 9:40 PM. Motion carried.
