Supervisor Bergman
called the special meeting of the Ensley Township Board
to order at 10:00 AM. The meeting was opened with the
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and a prayer. Board
members present were Richard Bergman, Cynthia Harwood,
Faye Folkema, Steve Knox and John VanderMeulen. There
were 4 guests present.
1.
Millage proposal: There was a motion by
VanderMeulen/Harwood to not put this on the November
ballot. All affirmed. Clerk to send letter to Sheriff
to notify him of the millage not passing and ask if
there is a grant available to cover expense.
2.
Internet Tower: Motion by Knox/VanderMeulen to
have an informational meeting to discuss and Internet
tower. All ayes. Motion carried.
3.
Corner Property: There was a motion by
VanderMeulen/Harwood to close the regular meeting and go
into closed session. The purpose of the closed meeting
is to discuss the vacant property on the corner of
Cypress Avenue and 120th Street. Motion to
close the closed session by Knox/Folkema. All
affirmed. There was a motion by VanderMeulen/Knox that
we stick to our guns and leave the stakes where they
are. All affirmed. Motion by Harwood/VanderMeulen to
have the clerk and treasurer look for more reference
material concerning the east township property. All
affirmed.
Adjourn: The meeting adjourned at 12:02 PM.
