Minutes for March 18, 2008

Meeting called to order by Chairperson, Cindy Harwood at 7:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a moment of silence.

Seventeen residents and guests present.

Deputy Visser introduced our speaker for the evening, Rebecca Laing Austin from Farmers Insurance Group in Fremont.  She gave an informative talk about insurance.

Deputy Visser reported City Watch is being updated with Ensley passwords.

Deputy Visser reported 18 complaints and six accidents the past month:

            S. Cypress-Felony warrants, 3 bad checks picked up

            Elm-Prowler pounding on windows

            Cottonwood-Phone harassment complaint

            22 Mile Rd-Threatening phone calls by ex-boyfriend

            Cottonwood-Home invasion arrest

            120^th –Broken window glass in car

            Locust-Rear window of passing car blew out by grandson with slingshot

            Elm-Domestic dispute (boyfriend/girlfriend)

            104^th & Newcosta-4 juvenile girl runaways

            136^th MP party-two juveniles drinking, marijuana, 1 arrested, 1 juvenile day in court.

Deputy Visser stated that he recently attended a week long school on Residential Security.  He also attended a diving school S. of Lt. Louis, MO  with 72 participants.  There were 18 guys and 2 gals at a training session at Fremont Lake from all over Michigan recently.

Dave Rondeau donated a wooden pen he designed for a drawing towards money to be used for the summer picnic.  $13.00 was taken in with Joan VandenBerg the pen winner.

Secretary’s report approved.

Treasurer reported $357.82 after a deposit of $22.50.

Old business-House number signs, flashing porch lights and t-shirts for sale.
