The regular meeting of the Ensley Township Board was called to order at 8:00 PM by Supervisor Starr.  The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Prayer.  Board members present were Phillip Starr, Cynthia Harwood, Faye Folkema, Brenda Bird, and John VanderMeulen.  There were nine guests in attendance.

Minutes of Previous Meetings: There was a motion by Bird/Folkema to approve the Minutes of November 3, 2009.  All Affirmed.

Treasurers Report: 

            General                         $276,297.72

CD #1 General                  30,000.00

            Checking                            1,225.54

            Roads                             129,338.69

            Total                             $436,861.95

Receipts #5222-5234 were used totaling $27,692.83.  There was a motion by VanderMeulen/Harwood to accept the treasurer’s report.  All affirmed.   A dog clinic date will be set up the first of the year.

County Commissioner:  Mr. Scholtens gave us a county update.

Zoning Administrator:  Mr. Hall had a written report.

Planning Commission:   They will start reviewing the ordinance starting with chapters four and five in January. 

Forest Committee:   There was no meeting this month.

Building Inspector:  There were two building permits and one electrical permit issued for the month.

Public Comment:  8:18 to 8:29 PM.

New Business:

1.      Mowing Bids:  Four bids were received.

Mike & Sons Lawn Care              $9,625.00

OJP Lawncare LLC                         7,500.00

A C & C Lawn Care                        7,080.00

Heckman & Son Lawn Care           8,400.00

There was a motion by Harwood, seconded by Bird, to award the contract to OJP Lawncare again this year.  There were four ayes and one nay (Folkema.)  Motion carried.

2.      Appointments:  Starr recommended to serve on the Planning Commission Janet Dravk and Keith Bouwkamp, Brian Hart to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and John Patin and Jim Dunn to serve on the Park Advisory Board.  This was seconded by Bird.  All Affirmed.

            There was a motion by Starr/Harwood to approve the dates.  All affirmed.

Bills:  Checks #11479-11504 were used totaling $103,352.55.  The General Fund was $8,253.01, the Road Fund was $94,154.42, the Building Inspection Fund was $745.12, and the Cemetery Trust Fund was $200.00.  There was a motion by Folkema/VanderMeulen to pay the bills.  All affirmed.

Correspondence:   The Newaygo County Road Commission meeting is December 9 at 1:00PM.  It was noted that Bird and Starr completed their NIMS training.

Public Comment:  9:05 to 9:32 PM.  VanderMeulen commented that at 5520 112^th Street someone is tearing apart cars near moving water.
