The regular meeting of the Ensley Township Board was called to order at 8:00 PM by Supervisor Starr.  The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Prayer.  Board members present were Phillip Starr, Cynthia Harwood, Faye Folkema, Brenda Bird, and John VanderMeulen.  There were seven guests in attendance.

Minutes of Previous Meetings: There was a motion by Bird/VanderMeulen to approve the Minutes of December 1, 2009 with the correction noted, “NIMS training was completed by Bird and Starr”.  All Affirmed.

Treasurers Report: 

            General                          $279,109.05

CD #1 General                  30,000.00

            Checking                             1,225.54

            Roads                                68,403.03

            Total                              $378,737.62

Receipts #5235-5265 were used totaling $45,081.53.  There was a motion by Harwood/Bird to accept the treasurer’s report.  All affirmed.   

County Commissioner:  Mr. Scholtens was not in attendance.

Zoning Administrator:  Mr. Hall had no zoning permits this past month.

Building Inspector:  There were twenty-five building permits for the entire year.  This amount was the same as last year.  The electrical permits decreased by 5%.

Public Comment:  8:16 to 8:25 PM.

Unfinished Business:

None

New Business:

1.      Budget Workshop Date:  January 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

2.      Dog Clinic:  Folkema will let us know as soon as she is told by the county.

3.      Newsletter:  We will have it out a week before the dog clinic.

4.      Cemetery Foundation:  Postema Monument did not collect for a foundation for the sexton.  Motion by VanderMeulen/Harwood to pay Mr. Butler for the foundation work.  All affirmed.

Bills:  Checks #11505-11525 were used totaling $8,564.79.  The General Fund was $8,200.29, and the Building Inspection Fund was $364.50.  There was a motion by Folkema/VanderMeulen to pay the bills.  All affirmed.

Correspondence:   Noted.

Public Comment:  9:12 to 9:29 PM.  Folkema noted that they had a fire and they were very thankful for the fire department coming so quickly and they did such a good job.
