Board
was
called
to order
at 8:00
PM by
Supervisor
Knox.
The
meeting
was
opened
with the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
to the
Flag and
a
Prayer.
Board
members
present
were
Steve
Knox,
Cynthia
Harwood,
Faye
Folkema,
Joann
VandenBerg,
and John
VanderMeulen.
There
were
nine
guests
in
attendance.
Minutes

The
minutes
of May
13, 2008
was
approved
without
objection.

to

been

Building
Inspector:
There
were
four
building
permits
and
three
electrical
permits
for the
month
May.
Zoning
Administrator:
Bob
Hall was
attending
a
training
seminar.
Planning
Commission
Report:
They
discussed
the
Planning
Enabling
Act and
worked
on the
Master
Plan.
Road
Report:
The
County
is
having a
meeting
on
Tuesday,
June 17
from
11:00 to
11:55
AM.
Cemetery
Report:
Knox/VanderMeulen
moved to
have the
cemetery
association
come up
with a
recommendation
to make
perpetual
care
mandatory.

County
Treasurer:
Holly
Moon was
present.
She
reported
that
they
have
collected
$726,000
in
chargebacks.
She is
running
for
re-election.
County
Commissioner
Report:
Mr.
Powell
distributed
a
quarterly
newsletter
from the
County.
Public
Comment:

introduced
themselves
as they
are
running
for
political
office.

The
Board
directed
to
Planning
Commission
to work
on an
ordinance.

They put
on a
seed,
fertilizer,
mulch
and
tackifier
in areas
of the
gravel
pit.
Bills:
Checks

were
used
totaling
$35.374.83.
The
General
fund was
$22,343.80
(including
$41.40
from
Crandall
Cemetery
and
$25.00
from N.
Ensley
Cemetery)
$11,925.00
from the
Road
Fund and
$1,106.03
from the
Building
Inspection
Fund.
There
was a
motion
by
Folkema/VandenBerg
to pay
the
bills.

Correspondence:
Knox
received
a letter
from the
District
Health
Department
stating
that we
need to
sample
the
water at
the
Baptist
Lake
Park or
put up a
sign
warning
swimmers
that the
water
quality
is not
being
tested.
There
was a
motion
by
VanderMeulen/Harwood
to put
up a
sign to
notify
people
that the
water is
not
tested.

affirmed.
There
was a
motion
by
Folkema/VandenBerg
for the
clerk to
gather
information/cost
and get
the
sign.

to clean
out the
old shed
and
organize
the
stuff
and not
dispose
of
anything
without
Board
approval.

to hire
a
plumber
to
replace
the
toilet.

ayes.
