meeting
of the
Ensley
Township
Board
was
called
to order
at 7:30
PM by
Supervisor
Starr.
The
meeting
was
opened
with the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
to the
Flag and
a
Prayer.
Board
members
present
were
Phillip
Starr,
Cynthia
Harwood,
Faye
Folkema,
Brenda
Bird,
and John
VanderMeulen.
There
were
twelve
guests
in
attendance.
Minutes
of
Previous
Meetings:
There
was a
motion
by Bird/VanderMeulen
to
approve
the
Minutes
of May
11,
2010.

The
North
Ensley
Cemetery

motion
by
Harwood/VanderMeulen
to
accept
the
treasurer’s
report.

Zoning
Administrator:
Interim
zoning
administrator,
Doug
Verduin
reported
that
four
zoning
compliances
had been
given
out this
past
month.
He has
been
checking
properties
that had
violations.
He went
over the
duties
of the
zoning
administrator
that
related
to the
planning
commission.
He also
stated
that he
would
send a
letter
to the
Newaygo
County
Court
relating
to the
Ellick
property
being
cleaned
up.
Planning
Commission:
They had
a public
hearing
on the
B&T
zoning
change
to
commercial.
The
request
was
withdrawn.
The
planning
commission
is
investigating
a
neighborhood
commercial
district.
This
could be
better
for
businesses.
The
second
hearing
was on
an
ordinance
amendment
of
sections
3.17,
5.01 and
6.01.
The
planning
commission
recommended
it for
approval.
There
was a
motion
by
VanderMeulen,
seconded
by
Folkema
to adopt
ordinance
10-5
contingent
on the
approval
of the
Newaygo
County
Planning
Commission.
There
was a
roll
call
vote and
all
voted
aye.
Ordinance
adopted.
Building
Inspector:
Mr.
Boluyt
had four
building
and
three
electrical
permits
issued.
Nature
Preserve:
The
central
trail is
being
worked
on.
There
will be
no June
meeting.
Building
Committee:
The
Board
was
given a
written
report
and is
to read
it over
and
discuss
it next
month.

moved to
hire Joe
Pulaski
and
Mitch
Rood to
share
this
position.

one
registration
for the
Policy &
Procedure
Seminar.
Harwood
volunteered
to
attend.

Twp.
Road
Request:
There
was a
motion
by
Folkema/Bird
to not
put
money
into the
requested
road.
All
ayes,
motion
carried.

Business:

Zoning
Administrator
Applications:
Two
applications
have
been
received.
Our
building
inspector
is
considering
the
position
and we
still
need to
talk
with
Williams
and
Works.
This
will be
discussed
again
next
month.

Folkema/VanderMeulen
moved to
not
purchase
the
property.

The
General
Fund was

Building

A motion
was made
by Bird/VanderMeulen
to pay
