Dog License Change

The process of getting a dog license is now being handled entirely by the county instead of the township or the veterinarian.  The county will have a dog clinic at the fire barn on February 7, 2004 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

Master Plan

The Planning Commission is preparing to start work on updating the Master Plan beginning April 2004.  Input from the public is wanted and needed as well as people that are willing to be part of a citizen committee

Revenue   Sharing Cut

General fund monies that the township operates on is being cut by nearly 13% for the year of 2004/2005, in an effort by the state to balance the budget.  At this point, we are to receive about $8,500.00 less than last year.

The Road Commission is offering to match monies on brine and certain other road projects, so we will come out with a little more than we had last year!

Township Hall

Efforts are continuing to get an addition on the hall for office space, handicap accessible restroom, a new septic system, parking lot improvements and lighting.    All this will make for much needed space to reduce the time it takes in the election process,  more space for attendance at meetings, and a more secure and better office environment.

Grant opportunities are in the works to help make this a reality.

Roadwork for 2004

Your Ensley Township Board has been working diligently on road improvements.  Next year we are looking to reconstruct Cottonwood from 120th to  128th Street.  We  will reseal about five miles of blacktop, pave Beech from 104th to 112th Street and do some wedging.    The county has been doing some brush clearing on the sides of the roads and they have been cleaning out ditches.

Thanks to our road millage we have been able to make a lot of road improvements that otherwise would not have been done.
