Regulation No. 62 - Newaygo County

 

WC - 62 - 99 - 001 Baptist Lake: High Speed Boating

 

On the waters of Baptist Lake, section 23, town 11 north, range 11 west, Ensley Township, Newaygo County, State of Michigan it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to operate a vessel at high speed.

 

The hours for "No High Speed" operation shall be 6:30pm to 10:00am the following day, the hours shall be 7:30pm to 11:00am the following day when and where daylight savings time is in effect. (R281.700.3) "High Speed Boating" is defined as a speed at which a boat reaches a planing condition.

The “board” as herein referred consists of Ensley Township board members as designated and Baptist Lake Association residents concerned about maintenance and improvements to the Park.

ANIMALS: No animals allowed in park area.

CLOSING PARKS OR PORTIONS THEREOF: Ensley Township Park, or portion thereof, may be closed entirely or closed to certain uses during any specified period of time by the Park Board. The Park Board shall prominently post these closings, and it shall be unlawful for anyone to enter upon or occupy such park or portion thereof contrary to the posted regulations.

HOURS FOR TOWNSHIP PARK: Ensley Township Park shall be opened to the public at 7:00 AM and closed at 10:00PM. There shall be no camping or overnight parking.

COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISES: No person shall sell or offer for sale any article, thing, privilege or service within the park without a permit from the Park Board. No personal shall do any begging, hawking, peddling or soliciting therein.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: No person shall, either by work or act, indulge in any noisy, boisterous, disorderly or indecent conduct, or in any manner disturb the peace or good order of the community within the park, nor shall any person play games of chance, or do any indecent, lascivious, lewd or improper act therein. No person shall enter a toilet room set apart for the opposite sex.

No person under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs or opiates shall enter or remain within the park. No alcoholic beverages or narcotic drugs or paraphernalia allowed in park. All persons shall be removed from the park that do not abide by the instruction and directions of duly authorized police officers or agents of the Park Board in lawful performance of their duties. Any person directed by a police officer or agent of the Board to leave the park shall do so promptly and peaceably.

FIREARMS: Firearms and explosives are prohibited in the park except by law enforcement.

FIRES: No person shall start a fire in the park, except small fires for culinary purposes and only in such places provided for that purpose. All fires shall be put out by the person or persons starting or using the same before leaving the immediate vicinity of the fire.

GARBAGE AND REFUSE: To be deposited in garbage receptacles provided. Trash receptacles are for the use of park users only

HUNTING, AND MOLESTING WILDLIFE
: Hunting and molesting wildlife shall be prohibited.

PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY AND NATURAL FEATURES: No person shall deface, disturb or destroy any park property. No person shall climb on bank or fence.

TRAFFIC: No person shall drive, park or store any vehicle or bicycle within the park, except in places designated by the Park Board for such purposes.

No person shall block entrances, exits, parking or launching facilities. Vehicles or equipment will be removed at owner’s expense.

SPECIFIC USES: The Park Board may from time to time designate or prohibit specific uses.

SWIMMING – BOATING: There is to be no swimming in the boat launch area. There is to be no boat launching in the swim area. No tubing or skiing from the park area.

VIOLATION – PENALTY FOR SAME: Any person violating any rule adopted by the Ensley Park Board created shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more the $100.00 and costs of prosecution or imprisoned.
