Supervisor Bergman called the special meeting of the
Ensley Township Board to order at 1:00 PM. The meeting
was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and
a prayer. Board members present were Richard Bergman,
Cynthia Harwood, Faye Folkema, Steve Knox and John
VanderMeulen. There were 3 guests.
Unfinished Business:
1.
B & T License Renewal:
A telephone call was made to the township attorney for
direction. He informed us that the form from the State
of Michigan should not be signed. He is following up
with a letter to that effect to the Board. There was a
motion to send a registered letter to Kelly Smith of the
Newaygo County Road Commission stating that we are
concerned about the intersection of 120th and
Cypress Avenue because of the inventory of used vehicles
on the south and the bank with tall weeds on the north.
We are requesting them to do something for clear vision
and safety. This motion was made by Bergman and
supported by Harwood. There was a roll call vote. All
affirmed. Motion carried. There was a motion by
VanderMeulen, supported by Folkema, that we send a
letter to B & T and Cook’s Auto Body with a copy of the
Attorney’s letter stating that we are not signing and
have been advised not to. All ayes. Motion carried.

Fee Schedule:
There was a resolution offered by Knox, supported by
Harwood to change the fees as recommended. There was a
roll call vote. All affirmed. Resolution passed

Public Comment:
There was a motion by Bergman, supported by Folkema for
the clerk to notify the property owners along Elm that
there has been illegal dumping of tires along the road.
