Ensley Township is recognized as a mostly Agriculture community with lots
of residences settling in amongst this community. Since the inception of Ensley
Township, Named after a man by the name of Ben Ensley; this has been considered
an agricultural community.

In the last ten years we have experienced nearly a 25% increase in population
growth, changing our community to more of a bed room community interspersed
within the agricultural community.
Ensley Township is a part of the head waters of the Rogue River on the
West.
The Muskegon river receives water from the eastern part of the township.
The south east corner sends water into the Grand
Baptist Lake and Englewright lake are two of the larger lakes in the
Township and are populated nearly all the way around. Conover lake being
the third larger of the lakes is privately owned and has only a few homes
located on its banks; A golf course (Pilgrims Run ) is part of this land
area.
Other smaller lakes include Mud, Fry, Butler,
Cook and White Lake,
south, Little Mud, Baldwin, Moore, and several other ponds of water of smaller
size. Plus many springs throughout the township a couple that are flowing
year around and are known as artesian wells.
The Township has a commitment to its agricultural lands and
their protection
as well as many other natural resources; all the while keeping in mind the
population growth that has a arrived and will continue.
